NIST meeting struggles with standards for mitigating DDoS threats

The National Institute of Standards and Technology kicked off a two-day meeting today where industry officials and regulators are discussing steps to mitigate the threat and impact of automated and distributed denial of service attacks, including the possibility of baseline security requirements for devices.
