NIST-led session will mark a milestone in drafting privacy framework amid growing pressures

The National Institute of Standards and Technology kicks off its two-day workshop in Atlanta today on drafting a voluntary framework for managing privacy risks, marking a major milestone in the effort amid growing regulatory pressures both domestically and abroad.

“NIST will use the working sessions at this workshop as input to validate or adjust the discussion draft to support the next stage of the process: releasing a preliminary draft framework,” according to the meeting agenda distributed on May 9....
