NIST issues draft security guidelines for mobile devices amid pandemic teleworking

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has issued draft revisions to guidelines for securing mobile devices, a particularly timely update as a significant portion of the country is teleworking from home because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Today mobile devices are ubiquitous, and they are often used to access enterprise networks and systems to process sensitive data,” NIST says in its Tuesday announcement of “Revision 2” to Special Publication 800-124. Comments are due on June 26.
