NIST issues cybersecurity 'practice guide' for energy sector

A new “practice guide” from the National Institute of Standards and Technology aims to help electric utilities and the oil and gas industry organize in defending operational technologies against cyber threats.

The draft NIST Special Publication 1800-23, “Energy Sector Asset Management,” was released Monday by the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence. It is open for public comment through Nov. 25.
