NIST extends comment period on federal security standards for government systems

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is giving the public two additional weeks to comment on the latest revision of standards for data security and privacy.

“In response to stakeholder requests, the public comment period for the final public draft (FPD) of NIST SP 800-53, Revision 5 is extended until May 29, 2020,” said the agency in an email sent to stakeholders on Monday. “We encourage reviewers to use the comment template for organizing and submitting comments.”
