NIST draft guide paves way for ‘next-generation’ security controls for IoT, smart cities

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has issued an updated draft guidance for securing federal data systems -- for the first time addressing rapidly evolving issues around security and privacy of the Internet of Things and emerging “smart” infrastructure, and aiming to expand applicability beyond the federal government to private entities leveraging IoT.
