NIST Director Locascio plans January exit to lead nonprofit U.S. standards organization

National Institute of Standards and Technology Director Laurie Locascio is leaving the agency ahead of the incoming administration to become president and chief executive officer at the American National Standards Institute, capping off a nearly three-year term that included a major update to the cybersecurity framework and undertaking efforts on artificial intelligence.
