NIST cyber framework touted as key tool for securing Internet of Things

Industry and government should address the urgent security and privacy issues surrounding the Internet of Things by using the framework of cybersecurity standards developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, according to panelists at a National Telecommunications and Information Administration IoT policy workshop today.

The NTIA workshop is part of an effort by the administration to gather input on IoT policy for an upcoming “green paper” outlining policy recommendations. That paper is due out sometime this fall....
