New NIST projects take cross-sector approach to ransomware, data integrity challenges

The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence has announced two new draft projects to identify and protect assets against ransomware and other “destructive” cyber events across industry sectors, as well as how to respond and recover from such incidents.

The NCCoE on Tuesday unveiled the two draft projects: one on identifying and protecting against ransomware and similar threats, and another on detecting and responding to threats. The cyber center will accept public comment...
