McCaul is playing the long game on DHS cyber restructuring bill

Consolidating cybersecurity functions at the Department of Homeland Security was a top short-term recommendation for the new Congress and Trump administration, but the House is unlikely to meet Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul's (R-TX) goal of passing a DHS cyber reorganization bill in October and the issue still isn't on the Senate's radar.

The measure remains the subject of multi-committee negotiations prior to floor action in the House -- where passage before the end of the year remains a possibility...
