Mavenir emphasizes need to prioritize cybersecurity in 6G development based on 5G lessons learned

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration should ensure cybersecurity issues discovered in the buildout of 5G networks are prioritized as 6G technologies are developed and deployed, according to telecom software provider Mavenir Systems.

“Neglecting to establish cybersecurity protocols for 6G networks could heighten susceptibility to cyber threats thereby potentially hindering the adoption of 6G technologies,” Mavenir says in a 70-page filing to NTIA submitted on Aug. 21.
