Maritime ISAC urges Coast Guard to exclude vessels from scope of proposed port security rule

The Coast Guard’s proposed cyber regulations for U.S. ports should remove requirements for vessels due to complicated operating environment conditions and the operational technology supply chain, according to the information sharing hub for the maritime sector.

“Proposed rules for vessels should consider the complex nature of vessel governance (owners, operators, flag states, classification societies, etc.) and of the role of OT vendors in the marine industry,” the Maritime Transportation System Information Sharing and Analysis Center says in May comments...
