Krebs, Strayer to senators: 5G security approach allows buildout without Chinese providers

Top DHS and State Department cyber officials assured members of the Senate Judiciary Committee today that the United States has a plan for winning the race to 5G without allowing Chinese providers into U.S. telecom networks, and is pursuing a global strategy to persuade allies to take a similar approach to securing next-generation wireless.

Those assurances and details on U.S. progress came as senators asked whether the 5G security challenge was so grave that perhaps rollout of 5G wireless networks...
