Input on Trump 5G security strategy features common calls supporting collaboration, standards bodies’ work

Supporting the ongoing work of standards bodies, encouraging industry collaboration and rejecting country-based restrictions on technology are among the recommendations that cut across the various stakeholder filings on the Trump administration’s strategy for securing fifth-generation networks, in a proceeding directed by the White House.

The Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration is helping to coordinate engagement with stakeholders in the process, and has posted over 75 sets of comments from telecom firms, trade groups, think tanks and others...
