Industry source: Next steps on Huawei carry 'significant' cyber implications

It's unclear what the Trump administration plans to do when temporary licenses to sell U.S.-made components to Chinese telecom Huawei expire in August, industry sources say, but a raft of cybersecurity issues remain to be addressed regardless of whether a ban on transactions with the company is enforced starting next month.

The Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security on May 16 added Huawei to its “Entity List,” which prohibits U.S. firms from selling to that company and 68 affiliates....
