Incident reporting mandate may hitch a ride this year, but other cyber initiatives attached to big-ticket bills are stalled

An omnibus appropriations bill or the China-focused “innovation and competition act” are possible vehicles for cyber incident reporting legislation this year, sources say, while election security provisions in a voting rights bill and an infusion of funding for state and local cybersecurity in the so-called Build Back Better package may have run into a legislative dead end.
