House passes bill calling for NIST-OMB security standards on IoT devices used by federal agencies

The House has passed an Internet of Things bill directing NIST and the Office of Management and Budget to set security standards for devices connected to federal networks, which supporters say will leverage the U.S. government’s purchasing power to drive up security across the IoT ecosystem.
