House GOP retirements promise to reshuffle cyber leadership in next Congress

The retirement of House Armed Services ranking member Mac Thornberry could trigger a leadership change at the Homeland Security Committee in the next Congress, while the Texas Republican's Monday announcement adds to a growing list of GOP cybersecurity policy veterans heading for the exits in 2020.

Thornberry would have been term-limited out of his senior position on the committee in 2021 under current House GOP rules. Several Republicans have already indicated interest in the top GOP post at Armed Services,...
