House Energy and Commerce scraps markup on bipartisan bill to create national privacy standard

The House Energy and Commerce Committee abruptly canceled a markup scheduled for this morning on a bill to establish a national data privacy standard, following intense opposition from business and civil society stakeholders, as well as from House GOP leaders.
