House clears bipartisan bill to bolster DHS cyber-incident response teams
The House has approved a bipartisan bill that would allow greater private-sector participation in DHS' cyber-incident response teams, a proposal intended to encourage government-industry collaboration in countering cyber attacks.
The bill, H.R. 1158, the DHS Cyber Incident Response Teams Act, would authorize cyber-incident response teams to help private and public sector organizations with response and recovery from an attack. The measure, approved by voice vote on Monday, would allow non-government “cyber specialists” to operate on DHS response teams.
