House Armed Services chair sees slippage in timeline for defense policy bill expected to carry Cyber Solarium pieces

House Armed Services Chairman Adam Smith (D-WA) said the schedule has “slipped” for passing the fiscal 2021 defense authorization bill, a measure expected to be laden with cybersecurity provisions including language to implement the recommendations of the Cyberspace Solarium Commission.

The Armed Services Committee is working on the bill remotely because of strict social distancing guidance, Smith told reporters on Tuesday, and wants to have it ready for consideration by May 1, though it may not be signed into law...
