Health group urges alignment of medical device cybersecurity, interoperability standards

An alliance of IT leaders in the health sector has urged the Food and Drug Administration to ensure that interoperability standards for medical devices align with new cybersecurity standards.

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives in an April 28 letter to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf called on FDA to better align standards for medical device interoperability with cybersecurity control standards for such devices.
