FTC sets agenda for forum on commercial surveillance and data security, focusing on potential regulation

The Federal Trade Commission at a Sept. 8 public forum will discuss consumer data security issues related to “commercial surveillance,” which the FTC defines as “the business of collecting, analyzing, and profiting from information about people,” as the commission considers regulating the practice.
