FTC argues for wider use of draft Commerce guidelines on disclosing security vulnerabilities

The Federal Trade Commission has submitted comments on a “draft template” developed by the Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Industry Administration for use by product developers in disclosing cyber vulnerabilities, arguing the guidelines should be widely used beyond companies and products that could affect public safety.
