Former DOJ official says security by design necessary for IoT, calls for deterrence policy

A global approach to ensuring that manufacturers build cybersecurity into Internet of Things devices is needed to protect against IoT-based cyber attacks, according to former assistant attorney general for national security John Carlin, who also said deterrence policy is a necessary action to prevent IoT threats.
