Former Commissioner McSweeny discusses FTC's evolving cyber role

Terrell McSweeny, a former Democratic member of the Federal Trade Commission, says the FTC is well-suited to play a robust role on cybersecurity, but that sector-specific agencies like the Federal Communications Commission shouldn't abandon the policy playing field.

And, she said, the FTC's “reasonable” standard should be well understood by businesses at this point for measuring cyber efforts.
