Former CISA chief Krebs praises White House, DOJ moves amping up federal response to ransomware

A new Department of Justice directive on ransomware investigations and White House advice to industry leaders are part of a significant uptick in the federal government’s response to ransomware, according to former CISA Director Christopher Krebs, who says efforts must aim to strengthen defenses and “break the business model” for such attacks.
