FERC seeks comments on critical infrastructure cyber risks, mitigation tactics

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is asking for industry input on how its critical infrastructure standards could be changed to “adequately address” cybersecurity risks, anomaly detection and mitigation of cybersecurity events.

The commission is looking to update the current Critical Infrastructure Protection Reliability Standards to reflect new cyber threats that “continue to evolve,” and “keep pace to maintain a robust, defense in depth approach to electric grid cybersecurity,” according to a notice published in the Federal Register on Wednesday....
