Federal CISO: OMB zero trust strategy is ‘cornerstone’ to improving agency systems

Federal CISO Chris DeRusha says OMB’s zero trust strategy is the first step to modernize government systems and should be part of a larger effort to rethink how agencies approach cybersecurity using roadmaps built by CISA and other federal entities.

Through CISA’s zero trust maturity model, DeRusha said the Office of Management and Budget is creating a “standard baseline” and “setting a three-year goal post” with “specific activities for agencies to shoot at.” OMB released its draft zero...
