FCC's Pai, industry offer support as supply-chain executive order tilts policy debate

President Trump's executive order on supply-chain security gained statements of support Wednesday from the head of the Federal Communications Commission and key telecom groups, which also stressed the need for close collaboration between government and industry on ensuring the security of the nation's communications network and buildout of next-generation 5G services.

The order signed Wednesday was framed by administration officials as “country-agnostic” but comes amid growing concerns about China and that country's ability to infiltrate next-generation 5G networks....
