FCC reaches $16 million settlement with TracFone over data security shortcomings

The FCC and TracFone have agreed to a $16 million settlement over the telecom carrier's failure to provide adequate security that resulted in three data breaches over a two-year period.

“Carriers -- and the customer information they have access to -- are prime targets for threat actors.
