FCC formally establishes Huawei rip-and-replace program, with procedures for determining covered equipment

The Federal Communications Commission has published a final rule in the Federal Register today setting up the groundwork for its Huawei rip-and-replacement program, establishing plans for reimbursement and determining covered equipment.

“In this document, the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) establishes rules to publish a list of covered communications equipment and services determined to be a risk to national security,” FCC says in the notice setting out several processes to make rip-and-replace a reality.
