Energy Dept., NIST establish partnership to develop cyber guidance for key critical infrastructure

The Energy Department has announced a new interagency agreement with NIST that will bring together researchers from both agencies to collaborate on initiatives, with the aim of strengthening security of the nation’s energy systems and addressing its interdependencies with other sectors like the maritime industry.

The new partnership is a $3 million, two-year initiative funded by DOE’s Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response. Researchers at CESER and NIST will work together to update DOE’s Cybersecurity Capability Maturity...
