Energy Dept., FERC respond to Senate energy panel inquiries over info-sharing, grid security

Officials from the Energy Department and FERC testified before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Wednesday on their responsibilities to keep the energy grid secure and how lawmakers can help boost public-private collaboration.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has created a unique opportunity for cyber criminals to attack our networks, including critical energy infrastructure,” Energy and Natural Resources Chairman Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said at the hearing.
