Emerging 5G prompts congressional action, spurs industry call for IoT security talks

Initial steps in rolling out a next generation of high-speed internet connections, or 5G, appear to be putting pressure on federal policymakers, as congressional committees last week kicked into high gear their consideration of data privacy and security concerns and a major industry coalition called for expanded White House efforts on securing the emerging Internet of Things.
