Does information-sharing membership have its privileges? Too early to say

The Obama administration is engaged in a full-court press to get companies to join the Department of Homeland Security's automated indicator sharing system – a key element of the info-sharing and liability protection arrangement authorized under last year's cybersecurity law.

The new law is intended to expand sharing of cyber-threat indicators as a way to thwart hackers, so the extent of participation in the DHS program could be seen as a measure of the law's success, aside from other provisions...
