Director of Obama cyber commission urges focus on ‘interdependencies,’ sector-specific agencies

The former executive director of President Obama’s Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity says the Trump administration in its second year should focus cyber policy efforts on how critical infrastructure is defined and updating authorities for sector-specific agencies and the liability protections they offer to the private sector.

Kiersten Todt, the executive director of the commission, told Inside Cybersecurity that growing interdependencies of critical infrastructure sectors necessitate that government and industry determine how to address cybersecurity across critical industries.
