DHS Secretary Nielsen stresses China's ‘influence’ campaign amid no evidence of system infiltrations

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen reiterated Wednesday that there is no evidence China has infiltrated U.S. election systems, but stressed the “unprecedented pressure to influence American opinion” prior to the midterms in describing the overall threat from China, which includes supply-chain risks.

“There are two threats that we see from nation states, at least two, with respect to our elections,” Nielsen said while testifying before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
