DHS official says tight deadlines in Trump cyber order restrict industry input

The tight deadlines in President Trump's cybersecurity executive order have restricted the ability of the government to seek industry input on a number of reports related to emerging risks and international strategies, according to a key Department of Homeland Security official.

“It has constrained our ability to seek input” from industry, said DHS deputy assistant security for cyber policy Tom McDermott, who spoke Wednesday at an event hosted by the United States Telecom Association on implementation of the order.
