DHS eyes role in mitigating supply-chain cyber risks as part of interagency initiative

The Department of Homeland Security has launched an interagency initiative to determine the department's role for mitigating supply-chain risks, a move that will include outreach to private industry groups.

DHS has “dedicated staff” to working on the project, which was initiated earlier this year and includes the General Services Administration in its role as the government's purchasing agent, according to Jeanette Manfra, assistant secretary for the DHS Office of Cybersecurity and Communications.
