DHS cyber innovation event falls victim to government shutdown

The Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate has canceled a major event exploring research and development avenues for cybersecurity innovation, due to the partial government shutdown now in its third week.

DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Director Christopher Krebs were slated to speak Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, at the 2019 S&T Cybersecurity and Innovation Showcase, which is described by organizers as a “unique” event, providing insight into research and development initiatives being explored...
