DHS cyber-agency bill is on cusp of enactment; ultimate impacts TBD

Legislation to create a standalone cyber agency at the Department of Homeland Security is tantalizingly close to final congressional approval -- and then to President Trump's signature -- according to congressional and private-sector sources, a milestone of still uncertain policy significance.

The Senate this month passed a slightly adjusted version of the House-passed legislation to form a Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency at DHS. Sources say the differences are so minor that lawmakers should have no problem clearing...
