Data missteps by Facebook could hand Zuckerberg lead role in defining industry regulations

Congressional hearings last week on the misuse of Facebook data could put CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a pivotal role for setting industry-wide requirements for online privacy and security, as lawmakers have asked Zuckerberg to offer regulatory solutions while everyone appears to agree the issues being raised go beyond his company in defining a data breach and the role of federal enforcement officials.
