Cyber-informed engineering work at Energy Dept. shifts to focus on deployment, trainings for critical infrastructure operators

The Energy Department’s Idaho National Laboratory is shifting gears to push for greater deployment of engineering controls to minimize cybersecurity risks across critical infrastructure systems that rely on cyber-physical components, according to INL program manager Virginia Wright.

The lab’s cyber-informed engineering efforts are “moving from being just research to also being deployment-focused,” Wright told Inside Cybersecurity on the sidelines of the Hack the Capitol conference on May 31.
