Cyber awareness month will begin with Congress probing the Equifax hack

Congressional hearings into the Equifax hack will cast a shadow over other events to kick off “National Cybersecurity Awareness Month” – and will serve as a potent reminder of how much remains to be done on the cyber policy front.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee on Oct. 3 and the Senate Banking Committee on Oct. 4 will hold hearings expected to feature testimony by ex-Equifax CEO Richard Smith on a breach that affected 143 million U.S. consumers.
