CrowdStrike threat hunting report identifies most-targeted industries, adversaries’ shift from malware

The technology sector was the top target for overall “hands-on intrusion attempts” while nation-state threat actors are heavily targeting the telecom sector, according to a new threat hunting report from CrowdStrike.

Technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, academic and health care were the most targeted sectors for “interactive intrusions,” while “financially motivated eCrime” appeared to be “the dominant threat type,” according to “Nowhere to Hide,” the annual report from CrowdStrike’s Falcon OverWatch threat hunting service released today.
