Critical infrastructure groups urge steps on electric grid, water security following recent hacks

Groups from the electricity and water sectors are citing the high-profile Colonial Pipeline and recent water system hacks in urging new funding and other cybersecurity measures, with pending infrastructure improvement legislation seen as a potential vehicle for securing different aspects of critical infrastructure.

Protect Our Power, a nonprofit industry-based grid security advocacy group, issued a call Tuesday for including about $22 billion in related funding in the infrastructure package expected to begin moving soon in the House and Senate....
