Court backs FCC on unlicensed use of mid-band spectrum, seen as a key to Internet of Things growth

A U.S. appeals court has turned aside a challenge to the FCC’s rulemaking allowing unlicensed low-power indoor devices to operate in the 6 GHz band, which the commission says will help accommodate rapid growth in the Internet of Things while addressing the security concerns raised by utilities and public safety groups.
