Consumer advocates push reexamination of software liability protections in new cybersecurity study

A prominent digital rights group is taking issue with the current “narrowly-focused risk management” approach to cybersecurity and is calling on government to revisit its approach to “liability frameworks,” including indemnification for software developers, to create a more “proactive mindset” for improving internet resilience.
