Constitutional scholars offer new 'framework' for agreement on protecting data

A group of constitutional scholars, with the support of Microsoft, has issued a series of “white papers” intended to break an enduring standoff between online privacy advocates and national security hawks, by offering a framework that seeks to fill a policy void on balancing government's role in protecting citizens with the free flow of information in a global digital economy.
